Janice Durr

Janice Faye Johnson-Durr is the youngest of 6 children born to James Edward and Mary Lee Johnson.  She grew up in Franklin County (NC) and attended Franklinton High School. She accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior at Allen Chapel Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. J.A. Watson. She is married to Ike Durr of Magee, MS.
 
While at attending the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, Janice was under the watch care of Dr. Prince Graves at St. James Baptist Church. While working in NYC, she was under the watch care of Dr. Johnny Ray Youngblood at St. Paul’s Community Baptist Church.
 
Upon returning to Franklinton, (NC) she joined Concord Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor S.E. Blalock. Janice did her initial sermon and was licensed to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ on August 21, 2011. In December of 2014, she was ordained by the Middle Baptist Association of the General State Baptist Convention of North Carolina, Inc.
 
At Concord she worked as an associate minister, trustee and teacher. She also served as Assistant Pastor under the leadership of the new pastor, Rev. Brian R. Floyd. She also served as chaplain of F.A.C.E.S. a Franklin County minister’s alliance.
 
She is a member of True Vine Baptist Church in Brandon, Ms. under the leadership of Pastor Stanley R. James. She serves as a Sunday School teacher, on the prison ministry and evangelism ministry.
 
Janice has studied at Apex School of Theology and Central Christian University a.k.a. Northeastern Regional Bible College. She received an Associate Degree in Human Resources Management at Wake Technical and Community College in May of 2014. She received her Master of Theology in June 2018 from New Life Fellowship, Inc.  School of Ministry in Columbia, Ms. She is currently working towards a doctorate in theology.
 
Janice has a zeal for the word of God. One scripture that is dearest to her is Psalms 27:13: “I would have lost heart, unless I had believed That I would see the goodness of the Lord In the land of the living.”
